What float therapy actually does.
Float therapy removes the two things that keep the nervous system running even when you want it to stop: gravity and sensory input. In a pod filled with 500kg of dissolved Epsom salt, the body floats effortlessly in complete darkness and silence, at skin-neutral temperature. There's nothing to process. Nothing to hold against. Many South Yarra guests try the sauna first and add the float once they've felt what the heat does. Our infrared sauna runs at 45–60°C — warm enough to penetrate deep into muscle tissue, comfortable enough to stay in for the full session without the stifling intensity of a traditional steam sauna.
The Tuesday Bring a Friend special ($67.50 for two guests) is popular with South Yarra clients who come with a partner or friend — shared sauna followed by separate private floats.
