Most date nights come with a menu, a screen, or both. This one doesn't. If you want something different to do with your partner in Melbourne's west, a float and sauna session gives you a slow, quiet couple of hours together. There's nothing to plan and nothing to keep up with.
What couples can do at Tally Floathouse
There are three ways to do it. Which one suits you depends on how much time you have and what you both feel like.
Share the infrared sauna
Our infrared sauna fits up to three guests, so you can sit in the warmth together and talk, or not talk at all. Sessions run for 45 or 90 minutes ($45 or $70 each) and include private shower facilities and herbal tea in the relaxation lounge afterwards.
On Tuesdays, our Bring a Friend special takes 50% off the second guest. Two people can share a 45 minute infrared sauna for $67.50.
Float in side-by-side private suites
Floating is a solo experience by design. You each get your own private suite, and the suites sit side by side. Inside, you lie back in warm water loaded with Epsom salt and float with the light and sound turned right down. Comparing notes afterwards is half the fun.
A 60 minute float is $75 each, or $65 on Mondays with our Monday Reset Special. A 90 minute float is $99. After your float, meet in the relaxation lounge for tea and a light snack.
Do both with the Couples Sauna and Float
This is the one most couples ask about. You share a 30 minute infrared sauna session first, then each head to your own private suite for a 60 minute float.
It's $160 for two, which is $80 each. Booking two of our standard 30 minute sauna and 60 minute float combos separately would cost $198, so the couples session saves $38. It's booked as one couples booking and it's valid for 12 months.
A relaxing day at Tally, step by step
Here's what a Couples Sauna and Float visit looks like from the moment you arrive.
Arrive early. Your booked time is for the float, so arrive 40 minutes before it to leave room for the sauna.
Sauna together. Settle into the infrared sauna for 30 minutes. It's warm, private and unhurried.
Freshen up. Have a quick shower before you float.
Float side by side. Head to your own private suite for 60 minutes. You float on your own, but you're right next door.
Tea in the lounge. Finish with tea and a light snack in the relaxation lounge, and swap notes on how it went.
Allow about two hours from arrival to walking out the door. If you'd like to add a 20 minute compression boot session in the lounge, it's a $15 add-on.

Good to know before you come
Nervous about floating? The pods are large, the lid is never locked, and you can float with it partly or fully open. Swimwear is fine if you prefer it.
Prep: skip caffeine for a few hours beforehand, eat a light meal about an hour before, and avoid shaving or waxing on the same day, because the salt can sting.
Health: please talk to us before you book if either of you has epilepsy, open wounds or a skin condition. Don't float after alcohol or drugs.
